The reason we are excited about Troumaca, is because of their ability to represent classic British indie and forward thinking progressive electronic music one beat. Fusing UK bass music with tropical riffs, dubby bass lines and big guitar leads. Oh and they look cool too!

This tropically inspired 5 piece from Birmingham via St Vincent & The Grenadines, are set to drop their debut EP – The Gems as a free download from 12th December 2011.

Kerogen is a magnificent electronic producer to keep your eye on.

Gaining a huge underground following for his signature blend of cinematic, often harrowing and minimal hyperdub sound he has been compared by many, including Timeout, to Burial and is regularly championed on Rinse FM.

Tracks, amongst many, to look out for are ‘Voice’ and ‘Sirens’.

Okayplayer are streaming a new track by The Roots, ‘Make My’ featuring Big K.R.I.T. Solemn, pensive, and in line with the concept of the group’s new album undun dropping 6 November.

Kieran ‘Four Tet’ Hebden jumps on a tune by Tinariwen, an African blues group formed in Libyan refugee camps in 1982. It’s not long before the track descends into Hebden’s hypnotic rhythms.

We know little about independent artist Youth Lagoon thus far, aside from a few free release and recent features on Pitchfolk and Audiomilk.

But what we can say is that 22 year old Trevor Powers AKA Youth Lagoon is moving us to all sorts of emotions.

As we bring the week that saw the death of Guru, the legendary MC who made up one half of Gang Starr, we would like to share one last song from his tremendous body of work.
Fittingly enough, we have chosen to play you ‘In Memory of…‘ from Gang Starr’s 1998 album Moment of Truth. It would be hard to find a more fitting soundtrack to the occasion.
