Gold Panda’s new stuff sounds like Gold Panda all right. And that’s not a bad thing. Nice classic drum kit.
Friends of Friends just dropped another Shlohmo remix. This one’s by Nicolas Jaar.

New D’Angelo a worthy way of kicking off 2012? We thought so. ‘Black Hole Sun’ is a Soundgarden cover. Way to whet our appetite.
The reason we are excited about Troumaca, is because of their ability to represent classic British indie and forward thinking progressive electronic music one beat. Fusing UK bass music with tropical riffs, dubby bass lines and big guitar leads. Oh and they look cool too!
This tropically inspired 5 piece from Birmingham via St Vincent & The Grenadines, are set to drop their debut EP – The Gems as a free download from 12th December 2011.
But in anticipation you can check new singles ‘Fire’ of the EP below. Nice.
Kerogen is a magnificent electronic producer to keep your eye on.
Gaining a huge underground following for his signature blend of cinematic, often harrowing and minimal hyperdub sound he has been compared by many, including Timeout, to Burial and is regularly championed on Rinse FM.
Tracks, amongst many, to look out for are ‘Voice’ and ‘Sirens’.
For more info and music check Kerogen’s record label Lewis Recordings.

Kieran ‘Four Tet’ Hebden jumps on a tune by Tinariwen, an African blues group formed in Libyan refugee camps in 1982. It’s not long before the track descends into Hebden’s hypnotic rhythms.

We like electro ambient nerd Bibio, signed to WARP Records, and we think you should too.
Here’s three electronic wonders we stumbled across from the British Born producer. All off his 2009 album – Ambivalence Avenue. (The last is a favourite)
More on Bibio? check his Warp Records.
As we bring the week that saw the death of Guru, the legendary MC who made up one half of Gang Starr, we would like to share one last song from his tremendous body of work.
Fittingly enough, we have chosen to play you ‘In Memory of…‘ from Gang Starr’s 1998 album Moment of Truth. It would be hard to find a more fitting soundtrack to the occasion.
Rest in peace, Guru.
