The Russian beat terrorist has now formed the most exciting musical collective of his career – The Electric.

We all remember that fuzzy feeling the first time we heard DJ Vadim’s first group Oneself. Soulful and fresh tracks like ‘Bluebird’ gathered new fans from Iceland to Tonga. But instead of wondering when or if they will ever reunite, the Russian beat terrorist has now formed the most exciting musical collective of his career—The Electric.

Gleeming from the success of Vadim’s 2009 Imaginashun album tour and overflowing with more soul then your mama’s kitchen on a Sunday, The Electric made up off UK sultry soul-stress Sabira Jade, Chicago’s freshest upcoming mc Pugs Atomz and of course the big and bashy taster himself, DJ Vadim conjure memories of past super groups like Lucy Pearl or Goldie Mob.

Indeed, Life Is Moving is super cool. Approaching stories of break ups, hook ups, beauty and celebration, it’s a piece of music that has positivity running right through it. Production wise, upbeat and chilled out moments take influences from the iconic artists of the 70‘s, 80’s and 90’s, yielding futuristic sounds covered in vintage dust, cooking up hazy electric soul for our current times.

Released independently under Vadim’s and Yarah Bravo’s own label OGS (Organically Grown Sounds), lead single ‘Beautiful’, which also features the intricate wordplay of Bravo in one of many appearances, sets the mood for a string of songs that mix big drums, cranking vintage synths and moogs. ‘Running’ is infectious soulful hip hop while ‘I’m All In’ is a unique love song. ‘Hands Up’ is a positive anthem with a clear nod to groups like A Tribe Called Quest while the horns of my favourite ‘So Now You Know’ will have you smiling as you soak up this summers UV rays.
