LG & Biscuit: Smoke Rings

LG & Biscuit

Smoke Rings

White Label

Possibly one of the greatest but overlooked albums ever, LG & Biscuits Smoke Rings is too special for words.

“This generation, rules the nation” -  Sonshine

Possibly one of the greatest but overlooked albums ever, LG & Biscuits Smoke Rings is too special for words. A timeless piece of music, that sadly fell through the cracks on its way to broader ears. It Sounds mesmerizing and apparent at anytime just like the magic mist it was made with with Biscuits hypnotic flute weathering LG’s beat brilliance.

Overall the production is chilled melodic greatness with Biscuits subtle notes tickling a hip-hop vein that runs warm throughout. A mixture of breaks and instrumentals also add to this unique experimental collaboration.

From the rewinding opener ‘I Know All About You’ and beautiful ‘Smoke Rings’ we are given a compass to the duos ideology: positive vibrations.   An album that stirs thoughts it’s eleven tracks collaborating the cream of the UK, Yungun, Micall Parkinson, Dubbledge and Jehst all pass through.  Jehst’s unusual choice in beat on the rare uncharacteristic spoken word EV and the drumming romance of Suicide are a both brave successes. Add the sweat harmonies of  Sabrina Roberts’  and D’Albo on many other gems and you are listening to a well varied album, with undertones of Jazz and Soul. Other highlights include piano lead ‘Life’ featuring rapper veteran Micall Parknsun and ‘Sonshine’ with Dubbledge.

If there was ever an album you need in your life this is one of them, that’s to say if you can get your hands on it.
