Don’t miss Brooklyn genre bending masters, Metro Area Live at the Oval Space this weekend.

The brainchild of veteran producers Morgan Geist and Darshan Jesrani, Metro Area was born out of the duo’s dichotomous love of both the old moods of R&B, disco and boogie and the more cutting-edge sound of innovative house and techno

It offers some fresh new ideas to Jazz from a generation of new blood.

These arrangements of distinctly recognisable Jazz standards have been removed from their creative origins and stylised with a Jazz-Funk Fusion aesthetic.

Check out the remix project Second Chances with the likes of Herma Puma, Handbook and Debian Blak to name a few.

Beatnik’s Creative Director Ali Raymond drops his midweek mix.

This week it’s an extra special mix in conjunction with good friend and rising print creative Lisa King as she celebrates the launch of her latest collection ‘Street Flora’ which features the ‘Screwprint’ and her pop-up shop in London’s Boxpark Shoreditch.

Lisa King has worked with an array of designers, from Boudicca and Diane Von Furstenberg, to Calvin Klein and Armani and was even been commissioned to work on the centre piece dress for the Victoria and Albert’s exhibition Kylie Minogue: Image of a pop star in 2007. This spring she also launch a super cool printed shoe collaboration with Clarks Originals.

Her pop-up shop opens from 23-30 May. Find more info on facebook.
